Dr. Jeffrey Lant: Be Very Cautious Before You Step Into The Ring With A Champion

Mon, Oct 4, 2010

Dr. Jeffrey Lant

I was working in my home-office yesterday and decided to log in to Worldprofit’s Live Business Center for Anything Goes and the Live Web Cast. These are two key components to Worldprofit’s sales funnel as it allows Dr. Jeffrey Lant to add extreme value to site visitors and prospects in a unique live setting. Worldprofit is the only business opportunity that conducts 100% of it’s business in a completely transparent manner through their live webcast and monitored business center 24/7 and 365 days a year.

What struck me today was watching the interaction between Bryan W (no need to use his last name to make my point), a prospective member and Dr. Lant and there is a lesson here for both marketers and anyone with a desire to succeed online. Bryan entered into the live business center just as everyone does, by opting into a subscription to become a Free Associate Member through an independent dealer’s website.

Upon entering into the live business center Bryan W was greeted by Steve Joyner, the Sr. Monitor on Duty and Dr. Jeffrey Lant himself. After attending the pre-program and the live webcast presentation the moment of truth arrived – time to make a yes or no decision to join Worldprofit or decline a special offer reserved for those who invest their time by attending the live webcast.

Here is where things began to decline in the interaction between Bryan W and Dr. Lant as a result of the reality that although Bryan invested nearly an hour and a half reviewing Worldprofit, seeing exactly how the members make money online and being presented all of the automation tools, traffic resources, and products to accomplish the same for himself – he declined the offer. Why? … keep reading.

Bryan W said that he was declining because of the way the program is presented … he said that it was a scam or con or one of those those words that people use when they have no real factual basis for their displeasure or when they just want to insult a person or process concerning an online business opportunity. The problem with this approach is that it takes the prospect themselves (in this case Bryan W) out of the equation when the real problem is that they are broke or do not have sufficient belief in themselves to take a chance, so they would rather look outward to blame the company, industry, economy whatever.

Dr. Lant in is own unique way provided Bryan W with a life lesson that he may one day actually become grateful to have learned. Bryan W lashed out at the “method you use to get people to your site and join,” in response Dr. Lant labeled the method marketing, which is an essential component of any business. If Bryan W is offended by “marketing” he would be ill advised to pursue a career in “Internet Marketing,” regardless if it is with Worldprofit or any-other business – not everyone is cut out to be an entrepreneur.

There is another lesson here, people often will argue for their lack and continue to perpetuate the same results time and time again because their mindset will not produce a different result. If you argue for your lack of time and fail to see where you can steal away an hour here or an hour there – you will never have time for your business. If you argue for your lack of money to get started and fail to see that finding an extra $3.25 per day would provide you with a easy $100 per month to build a meaningful income – you will never achieve your financial goals and change your life.

I cannot know precisely what was going through Bryan W’s mind yesterday, but I do know this, regardless if it is Worldprofit or another business opportunity, Bryan W has very little chance of succeeding online until he first changes his mindset and starts to see possibilities for himself and within the truly legitimate models such as Worldprofit.

Dr. Lant sought to provide Bryan W with a valuable lesson in marketing and Bryan’s only reply was that he was already a marketer … I was curious so I did what most people will do when they want to determine just how good a marketing leader you are – I Google’d him. Not surprisingly I couldn’t find a trace of Bryan in the first four pages of search results and didn’t go any further, most people won’t.

Bryan W exited the scene with a final barrage of insults and unfounded random rants that simply demonstrated his own frustrations and lack of personal accountability.

Having done all that he could Dr. Lant provided these parting words.

“Be very cautious before you step into the ring with a champion. It is not likely that you will be able to reach him to advance own your aims, rather the champion with superior skill will use your mere presence to accomplish his own.”

Moments after Bryan W’s departure another guest, someone who was in attendance to witness the whole ordeal took action on her goals and joined Worldprofit as a Silver Package owner. She has small children, she said she was excited about the opportunity to achieve her goals, she was embraced by the community and I cannot wait to hear her story and see how her life will change over the next few months.

Perhaps the lesson here is that two people can view the exact same information, become aware of the exact same facts and come away with a completely different decision based on their own perceptions and level of self-belief. Do I think Bryan W is a bad guy, no – not at all. I think Bryan W has been often disappointed in life and needs to rediscover his belief in what is possible, which is the key to every success.

Great story! So many people come in to the internet marketing business as roofers and don’t understand that the business begins by laying the foundation. Then the frame, then any combination of plumbing, electric and other things. Even when you think the house is complete, it still needs maintenance and cleaning. And…even after that, every once in a while something new comes along to improve the house or it systems. Eventually a small or large remodel is needed. Never once have I seen a roofer come in and build a roof on the dirt. Pour the cement and go from there. The house WILL get built.

    Hi there,
Yes, I was listening to this call too. It’s too bad he didn’t at least give it a try for 1 month to see if it worked for him or not, before he said all of those things, like it’s a scam.

Now this is an amazing post, James.

I love reading your writing. Not only was it very informative of the real action we see in the live business center at Worldprofit, but you told the tell perfectly. I was truthfully entertained.

It’s sad that people have been so burnned by scams online that they see everything as a scam. Even when real opportunity is presented before them, not just Worldprofit, they run from it. And to even insult real people who reach out to help, shows a flaw in their own character. What happened to being respectful to you fellow human being? Even if you don’t like an offer, I say be nice and just move on. No need to bash the sales guy!

    Thanks for the great article,

    Wonderful article James.
Most people are not aware of the power they have over there lives, it is a matter of beliefs. Thought are things. And when one decides to stay where they are it closes the door to possiblities that are available to them. They need but recognize that life says yes to them. They but need to say yes back.

Having read this article, this article reminds me of a saying you either see a a cup of water half full or half empty.

Engaging witn the wrong mindset and wrong information only adds to one’s frustration.

The key lesson here is to learn from someone who walks the TALK.

Never follow a person who only talks the WALK.
